ImportCalc is the app which will calculate what it will cost you to import merchandise bought over the internet to Norway.
Norway has a strict rule that for any purchase over 200NOK, the Norwegian government will add VAT to the price of the purchase and the price of freight. This app will allow you to easily check whether or not your intended purchase will incur VAT, and will calculate an approximate total cost of purchasing the merchandise online.
ImportCalc will also show you what the 200NOK limit is in the different currencies available.
ImportCalc supports many widely-used currencies, among other:
* US Dollars (USD)
* British Pounds (GBP)
* Euro (EUR)
* Japanese Yen (JPY)
* Hong Kong Dollar (HKD)
* ...and many more
As the app is mostly relevant to Norwegian citizens, the user interface is in Norwegian.
--DISCLAIMER--
The exchange rates are collected from the Norwegian Customs Authoritys own exchange rates, which might deviate a bit from the actual exchange rate you will get when purchasing items online, so the real cost you pay might be slightly different, based on what exchange rates your bank operates with. This also means that the calculation of whether or not the item will trigger VAT or not is correct at the moment when you are using the app, but the rates may have changed by the time your merchandise arrives at the customs checkpoint where the Customs Authority will do their calculations.
